Here's some feedback from clients that I've worked with over the past number of years...
A Best Man's Testimonial
"When I sat down to write a best man speech, I really struggled with how to articulate the stores I wanted to include in a way that wouldn’t bore my audience to death. I met Helen for an hour and talked through these stories. Within 2 days Helen had come back with the speech that absolutely captured everything I wanted to include in a way that was straight to the point, witty, excellently structured and easy to deliver. I would highly recommend Helen if you too are stuck with the daunting task of writing a best man’s speech".

Another happy customer...
"Helen's speech allowed me to have a good structure for the big day with some great ideas - and I didn't forget to mention anyone! It all went very well - thanks, Helen"

It's a Rap!
In July 2012, I had the absolute pleasure of writing awedding speech in the form of a rap for an eager and bubbly bridesmaid who shall be referred to only by her initials, EP, at her own request! The basic idea was to take the Fresh Prince of Bel Air theme and recreate it for her best friend's wedding so that all four bridesmaids could take a turn with the mic. I turned our rap around in three days - even recording a rudimentary version so that our bridesmaids knew what went where! It was a creative challenge, and the absolute best fun at work I've had since I can remember! Although I'm not sure I'd have wanted the neighbours to see me pacing up and down my kitchen pretending to be Jay Z. Here are some of the lyrics:
We reflected solemnly on the girls nursing training here: "In college we was all a crazy bunch of girls 'cept the pink and white princess with the corkscrew curls Nurses gone wild, we ain't makin' no apology Cos it's very very tough learnin' all of that biology"
We contemplated the bride's finer qualities with this verse: "Soon (the bride) was on the dancefloor like a girl gone crazy Just like Nicki Minaj – although our mem'ries are hazy Still, with all the moves that she be poppin' (The bride) finds time to do a little shoppin'"
and, working very closely with my bridesmaid client, we wished the Bride and Groom all the best with this: Now my buddies are here and they're husband and wife (Groom), marriage ain't a word – it's a sentence for life So may your troubles be less and your blessings be more And nothing but happiness come through your door
The wedding speech rap went down an absolute storm on the day and EP had the following to say: "Helen was a miracle worker. No job too big - I did my speech in a rap style and not everyone is up for a challenge like that but Helen made the whole crazy idea stress-free. Highly recommended - I cannot thank her enough"
2014, and we're off....!
Wedding Season has kicked off in earnest for 2014 and in the past month alone I've written for a Groom, a Best Man and the Father of a Bride and I'm currently working on a Blushing Bride herself who will marry this summer.
On the corporate front, I have also written an awards acceptance speech and an introduction to a research presentation conference. My clients have asked that their names remain confidential - which is also an inherent part of the service. I write every speech as if it's coming directly from the person who's speaking, so if you'd like to keep it on the down-low that you've had a helping hand with your words then that's not a problem!
The organised Bride!
Rebecca Singleton on her bride's speech June, 2013 Rebecca had this to say: "The moment I met Helen I knew I had come to the right place. She was witty, funny had great ideas about my speech and instantly "got me". She understood exactly the way I wanted to deliver my speech and was able to guide me in the right direction with the emotional parts. I would recommend Helen to ANYONE writing a speech. It really took the stress out of it for me. Thank You Helen!"
The Toast Master
“I am a member of my local toastmasters club which is designed to help people improve their public speaking. I felt completely out of my depth and fazed when I had to present a humorous speech as one of my assignments. Helen helped me put together a very funny, concise and image rich story which gave me the confidence to deliver the speech I wanted to. Being prepared properly definitely gave me the confidence to succeed. Thank you Helen. Paul .”
